Rules & PoliciesAt Berlin Water Adventures, safety is our highest priority. In order for you to have a safe time on the water there are a few things you should know before you head down to the docks.
The Ohio Boat Operators Guide provides you with everything you need to know to operate a boat safely on our lake. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read through it. Vertical Divider

Boater's LicenceYou must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license to rent from us. If you were born on or after January 1st 1982 you are required to have a Boater’s License. If you would like to rent our jet skis and pontoon and do not have a boater’s License you can take our Temporary Boaters License Exam. You must pass this 10 question exam with a 90% or better. We provide the test and a guide to study with. But in order to save time on the day of your rental, it would be a good idea to download the Boat Operator’s Guide and study before you come to our location.

Time Starts When You Schedule Your RentalYour rental time starts when you are schedule to pickup. You are expected to be headed off at your scheduled time.
|
PoliciesWhen using our online scheduling tool or booking a rental over the phone, you will be required to pay for the rental, sales tax, and booking fee upfront. This payment secures your reservation for the specified date and time. Additionally, on the day of the rental, a $250 damage deposit will be collected, which will be refunded if no damage occurs. Please note that customers are also responsible for covering the cost of the gas used during the rental period.

Availability
We recommend that you schedule ahead of time by phone or our website to ensure availability. While we offer walk-in’s, rentals may be limited. Booking ahead guarantees your watercraft reservation. Pets
If you would like to bring your pet along on our pontoon, there will be a $75 partially-refundable fee added to the total rental cost. ($50 will be refunded depending on the condition of the pontoon upon return. This fee covers the time and materials that may be required to clean the pontoon.) Gas and Taxes
Taxes and gas are not included in the rental fee. A sales tax of 7.25% will be applied to the rental fee, plus fuel replacement costs. Rental Time:
Please plan to arrive 30-40 minutes ahead of your scheduled time to complete the temporary boaters license exam, sign paperwork, and receive instructions on operating the equipment safely. Your rental time will commence upon departure from the dock and conclude upon returning to our docks. It is important to be prompt in returning the equipment, as subsequent rentals may be scheduled. Late arrivals will still end at the scheduled time, and the customer will be responsible for the total rental cost. Note that a late fee of $100 will be applied if you are later than 15 minutes. Damage Policy
Starting from May 26, 2018, a minimum charge of $250 per motorized watercraft may apply for any damages that occur during the rental period, including collisions with other watercraft, beaching, docking, and other related incidents. This fee covers expenses for scratches, dents, through-hull punctures or any damage resulting from contact with the dock or other watercraft. Our team is dedicated to providing thorough instructions on watercraft operation, and we strongly advise customers to request assistance for docking when their rental is complete. |
