Rules & PoliciesAt Berlin Water Adventures, safety is our highest priority. In order for you to have a safe time on the water there are a few things you should know before you head down to the docks.
The Ohio Boat Operators Guide provides you with everything you need to know to operate a boat safely on our lake. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read through it. Vertical Divider

Boater's LicenceYou must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license to rent from us. If you were born on or after January 1st 1982 you are required to have a Boater’s License. If you would like to rent our jet skis and pontoon and do not have a boater’s License you can take our Temporary Boaters License Exam. You must pass this 10 question exam with a 90% or better. We provide the test and a guide to study with. But in order to save time on the day of your rental, it would be a good idea to download the Boat Operator’s Guide and study before you come to our location.

Time Starts When You Schedule Your RentalYour rental time starts when you are schedule to pickup. You are expected to be headed off at your scheduled time.
|
PoliciesWhen using our online scheduling tool or booking a rental over the phone, you will be asked to put down a non-refundable deposit that will count toward the cost of the total rental. This ensures you get a rental on a specific date and time. If a reservation cancellation is necessary (for any reason including weather), it must be done by noon (12:00 P.M.) prior to the date of the rental pick up. Otherwise the deposit is forfeited. In the event of late weather cancellation management may allow a reschedule without forfeiting the deposit. Rescheduled rentals may not be cancelled without deposit forfeiture.

Availability
We recommend that you schedule ahead of time by phone or our website to guarantee availability. We do offer walk-in’s but availability of rentals will vary. Pets
If you would like to bring your pet along on our pontoon, there will be a $75 partially-refundable fee added to the total rental cost. ($50 will be refunded depending on the condition of the pontoon upon return. This fee covers the time and materials that may be required to clean the pontoon.) Gas and Taxes
Taxes and gas are not included in the rental fee. A sales tax of 7.25% will be applied to the rental fee, plus fuel replacement costs. Arrival Times
Please arrive about 30-40 minutes ahead of your scheduled time. This time will be used to take the temporary boaters license exam, sign paperwork, and go over operation and safe operation of the equipment. Late arrivals will still end at the scheduled time and the customer will be responsible for the total rental cost. How Rental Time is Figured
Your rental time will start when you depart from the dock and will end when you return back to our docks. Make sure you are back on time as others may be scheduled to take the equipment out after you and you will be charged accordingly. A late fee of $100 can be applied if you are later than 15 minutes. Damage Policy
Effective starting May 26, 2018, a damage fee of $250 may be collected for damage done while docking. This includes scratches, dents, and through-hull punctures caused by the watercraft coming in contact with the dock or with other watercraft. We make every effort to explain how to operate the watercraft and advise customers to call for assistance when the rental is complete for help with docking. |
